Cardinals have appeared in our Christmas designs before. But, I never really thought of the handsome red bird as anything more than a bird that handily dressed up in Christmas colors.
But this year, after we lost my wonderful dad, I was told, “when a cardinal appears, an angel is near.” So I asked the all-knowing Siri, and sure enough, she shared story after story. “When a cardinal appears in your yard, it is a visitor from heaven, and they will show up when you might need them most. They symbolize hope, joy, health, rejuvenation and celebration.”
So, just in case the cardinals in your neighborhood have flown to their winter homes, here is a cardinal I made for those of you who are missing someone you love this holiday. I hope he will bring an angel close to you and give you comfort and peace.
